I have a follow-up question regarding my account type: My account is currently upgraded to Pay As You Go (PAYG).

Does this new limit reduction (1,500 OCPU-hours / 9,000 GB-hours) apply to PAYG accounts as well, or is it only restricted to pure Always Free (non-upgraded) accounts?

If I continue to run a 4 OCPU / 24 GB RAM Ampere A1 instance on my PAYG account, will I be billed for the usage exceeding 2 OCPU / 12 GB RAM, or does the legacy 3,000 OCPU-hour / 18,000 GB-hour limit still apply to PAYG users?

  Yes, Pay As You Go (PAYG) accounts remain eligible for Always Free resources. A PAYG account is only billed for resource consumption that exceeds the applicable Always Free entitlement. Oracle’s Always Free benefit continues to apply after upgrading an account to PAYG.

  Regarding the Ampere A1 Always Free allocation, Oracle’s current public documentation specifies an entitlement of 1,500 OCPU-hours and 9,000 GB-hours per month, which is equivalent to running 2 OCPUs and 12 GB of memory continuously for an entire month.

  
  

  Based on this allocation, if a 4 OCPU / 24 GB Ampere A1 instance is run continuously, it would consume the monthly Always Free entitlement more quickly. Any resource usage that exceeds the applicable Always Free allowance would be subject to standard PAYG billing.
